Sailing for all young people

Welcome to the Arun Youth Aqua Centre, an entirely voluntarily run Youth Organisation, operating from the Jubilee Compound adjacent to the Littlehampton Wave.

Arun Youth Aqua Centre is aimed at young people between the ages of 8-18 who want to get out on the water and learn to sail. All the equipment you need to get started is provided, you just need to wear clothes and shoes that can get wet and  something dry to change into.

Fun and Educational

You will get wet but it is fun and educational at the same time and you could be helming a dinghy within a few weeks of joining. If you are willing to learn whilst having fun expert help is always on hand so you could very soon be the next Ben Anslie or Ellen McArthur

We have a variety of boats that will take you from a novice, all the way through the RYA youth scheme stages 1-4 to become a Dinghy Instructor if you wish. Sailing is not expensive at AYAC because we are reliant on our volunteers who willing give their time to run the Centre and so keep costs to a minimum. Parent/Guardian helpers are actively encouraged to assist the team run the sessions, family days, BBQs and other social events.

Sailing Season

We are open from the first Sunday in May through to October and we sail on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

If you would like to join us or you would like further information email admin@ayac.org.uk or call 01903 71475

Our Volunteers

The Centre is acutely conscious that volunteers are our lifeblood, as such we encourage our parents to gain the rudiments of powerboating through our volunteer programme on the water generally held on a Friday evenings. Parents with powerboat skills are encouraged to participate in the Centre sessions by acting as safety boat crews assisting our RYA Instructors.
