Parents Beach Rota

It is essential for the safe and smooth running of the Centre that you make every effort to attend on the date/dates shown. It is YOUR responsibility to arrange a swap with another family if you are not available on the allotted date.

Please ensure that your footwear is suitable for walking on the beach and capable of getting wet without spoiling since it will greatly assist the instructors if you could

PUT ON A BUOYANCY AID

and assist the youngsters launching and more particularly recovering their dinghies.

NOTE: BUOYANCY AIDS MUST BE WORN WHEN IN THE WATER.

When on Duty please arrive BEFORE the session goes on the water: -

by 0915 on Sundays, by 1745 on Wednesdays

FLUORESCENT JACKETS SHOULD BE WORN WHILST ESCORTING THE YOUNG SAILORS ACROSS THE ROAD.

Please make sure that Senior Instructor briefing the youngsters introduces you as the Parent on Beach Duty and that you receive a fluorescent jacket, set of keys and are shown the Clipboard with all the information you could need by either an Instructor or member of the Management Committee.

Ensure you have been shown how to use the VHF Radios if you are not already familiar with its operation, we generally use channel 37A

Once all the youngsters are ashore you may be asked to run the Tuck Shop, prices are displayed on the wall and a cash tin, with a small float, will be in the Tuck Cupboard. Details of any money given other than for Tuck should be noted on the pad in the bottom of the cash tin.

Please ensure that rubbish does not accumulate in the Meeting Room by taking all full sacks outside to the dustbin.

This Season we have again rostered two parents for duty at all Sailing sessions to allow flexibility for undertaking jobs around the Centre and
